THE LIGHT OF LOVE     The invisible sky, high above our heads The invisible dust, just beneath our feet Unaware, what’s certain, what’s uncertain? We run after the erratic worldly illusions?   Endorsing own perceived self-interests, And, beset with prejudice and hatred, We on our own are formulating hate projections For perilous paths of revenge and destruction.   ‘cause we promote self imposed interests Harmony looks like a mystery filled object; So many a hurdle, though we had cleared, Hurdle after hurdle, on our own are created.   How to alter the mindset of the war thirsty? How to transform hate to harmonious reality? Living in an atomic age, we need to cooperate As harmony seekers, our dire need is to mediate.   Since ‘Light of Love’ can dispel strife among nations And embedded in it, is prosperity of every human; No one aspires for a repetition of global conflicts, but Aspires to liberate mankind from conflict thoughts.   Why not we lay ever new “Love and Trust-filled” paths Adorned with petals of eternal harmony on planet earth.

THE REAL WORTH   Human emotions Reveal different moods of life; The paths of ‘joys and grief’ Toss us midst gloom and dejection And provoke us to think … Is it what a human life is made up!   Devoid of caste and creed Devoid of sect or religion, Is there any source … To bring together all regions To bind together all religions; To transform the planet earth As an icon of love and concern.   Seek the radiance of God To share tenderness of love, Seek the radiance of love To share feelings of fondness, Seek the radiance of faith To share compassion of peace, Seek the radiance of Peace To share the ultimate of passion Seek the glowing path of passion To discover the source of salvation; Once you tread the ‘path of trust’ You are bound to experience The real worth of what a human life is.  WAR AND ENVIRONMENT   Every human, from the deep core of heart Assert, ‘nature’ as a thing of joy and lasting beauty. It forms the core part of our world environment Providing the vital essence of life to all creatures.   If the joy plenteous derived from environment, If the lasting bliss derived from peaceful nature, Weave an everlasting bond with all living beings   Dear! Why not we protect, project and adore both?    With an unwavering will to defend our planet earth With a firm action to protect world environment, Why not we extend cooperation to shield nature; That cares for the wellness of all living-beings?   Caught in the vortex of materialistic life all around, Under illusions of supremacy and egoistic leanings; Leaving a trail of loss, ruin and mass civilian deaths, We vie for destruction through conflicts and wars.     Wars flash the flame of hate, crime and destruction Forcing on us the burden of pain, sorrow and isolation; While flowers peep and birds sing ear-pleasing notes Environment infuses joy eternal in every human heart.   Enlighten self and others to unveil a light -filled world Let us awaken to view a flower reigning among thorns; Let us relieve thirst of war seekers and awaken them too For they too can lay a path for attaining eternal peace.

Mr. Ashok is conferred with several prestigious awards, including Doctor of Literature (UNESCO) and Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa, UNO) and quite a lot of laurels & commendations for his poetry contributions to promote Universal Peace, World Brotherhood, Environment Consciousness, Protection of Nature, Safeguarding Children's Rights etc. His poem "Plant More Trees" for United Nations ‘Billion Tree Campaign' was the only Indian poem among the 9 poem-songs selected and set to tune by Md. Iqbal Behleem, noted Pakistani music director (Star Light Music Inc., USA). The CD was released by "Association Pour la Terra", France and Ashok's poem-song received wide international acclaim from several schools across the world. Mr. Ashok was one of the few international acclaimed peace poets who was designated with the title, ‘Universal Peace Ambassador'. Mr. Ashok was one of the 8 world poets who received rare laurels from the Malaysian Government and was conferred with the prestigious ‘Medallion Pulara' in recognition to his contribution for ‘world peace through poetry'. His poem titled, THE WORLD NEEDS PEACE" was chosen as one of the best 12 poems during 2016 and published in a special issue brought out to mark the Formosa Poetry Festival, Taiwan, titled, "Literature of the Saline Land". That apart, Mr. Ashok's name was recently proposed for the Highly Revered, Republic of Venezuela's (South America) "Merito Al Trabajo" 2017 award. He happens to be the first Indian to be recorded in the annals of Venezuela' history to be conferred with the highly acclaimed distinction. Another poem, A REAL CONCERN, became part of study material for Class-X students in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, which has 850 schools in India, Moscow and Kathmandu. That apart, Mr. Ashok's poems have been translated into 15 international languages.
